Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey lost easily to reigning champion Amanda Nunes on the evening of December 30 in Las Vegas.

Ronda Rousey has been away from the media for more than 13 months since losing her championship belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015. However, after a period of hiding, Rousey still cannot regain the aura of the biggest star in the mixed martial arts (MMA) world.
The 29-year-old fighter lost quickly after only 48 seconds to the reigning champion of Brazil, Amanda Nunes at the UFC 207 event. Right after the match started, Rousey had to receive a series of powerful jabs with a one-two rhythm from Nunes. Although Rousey tried to approach her opponent to use her strength of grappling, her plan was not successful.

Rousey’s performance against Nunes was too bad compared to how she dominated the UFC bantamweight division in previous years with 11 consecutive victories. Rousey was helpless in avoiding the punches with almost no boxing skills against Nunes. The second consecutive defeat in her MMA career has raised questions about Rousey’s ability to retire.
