The former welterweight boxing champion said he is willing to help Ronda Rousey if the MMA fighter wants to improve her boxing skills.
Floyd Mayweather and Rousey have always had a grudge against each other, and the two fighters often fight in the press. But after Rousey was knocked out by Holly Holm and lost her “Undefeated” title, Mayweather not only stood up to defend her against criticism, but also offered to help if the female MMA fighter needed it.
“I want Ronda to keep her head up and not let this defeat get her down. If she needs any help with her boxing, I’m here. Ronda needs to improve her timing and distance. What she can do when she takes people to the ground is amazing. Ronda will be fine,” Mayweather said.

Rousey and Mayweather have long disliked each other. The female fighter currently competing in the UFC system once challenged Mayweather to fight her. The former world boxing champion criticized Rousey for not having enough money. Recently, Rousey often mentioned Mayweather before each of her matches to attract more attention. Commenting on this issue, “Moneyman” said he did not feel bothered.
“Even though Rousey said some bad things about me, sometimes we need to turn things around for the better. Do I think she was being mean when she said that about me? Absolutely not. If I were her, I would use the name Mayweather too. She brought it up on purpose. It’s about making money, it’s not personal, and I understand how to make money,” he explained.
Mayweather has never lost in 49 fights during his career. However, he knows how to make money from fights. According to the 38-year-old former boxer, organizing a rematch between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm right now is not a good idea.
“As a former fighter, I think Ronda needs time to recover. I think they’re pushing her. They need Ronda back, need her confidence back. Although I think she still has confidence. Let Holly fight a few more fights, defend the title a few times. That’s what I would do. From the perspective of a former fighter and a promoter, what would I do? I would let them fight different opponents and slowly build up the connection. It just takes time. That’s what I did with Manny Pacquiao. From a projected $100 million, I made $300 million. So, take your time,” Mayweather said, showing his understanding of the art of making money from a fight.
